Castle Baron sires 2012 National Performance Pony of the Year

Asham Connemaras &  Performance Horses would like to congratulate the connections of Glenormiston Dundrum, the 2012 National Performance Pony of the Year, sired by Castle Baron.

Glenormiston Dundrum is sired by the "King of Connemara Stallions in Australia", Castle Baron out of the Oxenholm Gideon mare Glenormiston Rosmara and was bred by Mrs Sue Clarke of Glenormiston Connemaras in Queensland. He was purchased by Carlisle Sheridan of Powderbark Stud in Western Australia where he stands at Stud and competes successfully both in hand and under saddle.

Along with his National Performance Pony Award Dundrum won both the 'In Hand' and 'Under Saddle' titles for Western Australia and also accumulated enough points to be awarded a Bronze, Silver and Gold Medallion by the Connemara Pony Breeders Society of Australia. An absolutely brilliant achievement!

Glenormiston Rosmara is a full sister to Glenormiston Rosslea, now owned by Asham Connemaras & Sporthorses and currently due to foal a full brother or sister in blood to Glenormiston Dundrum. Another full relation to Gl Rosmara and Gl Rosslea, Glenormiston Rosconnell, was awarded the 'Under Saddle' title in Queensland and we would like to congratulate Tom Coggan on his award.

Castle Baron was also the sire of the Runner Up 'In Hand' title for the Central Division (being NT & SA) Glenormiston Rosanna and our congratulations go to Gill Beaton on this success.
