In 2011 we decided to purchase Glenormiston Scarteen's foal by Frederiksminde Hazy Cavalier as a future stallion, if indeed she threw a colt. As luck would have it she foaled a buckskin colt in January 2012 which we immediately purchased. Due to Sue's ill health we were offered the option to purchase Glenormiston Scarteen with her colt foal at foot and we jumped at the chance.

In purchasing Glenormiston Hazy Dane our aim was to stand him in the future as a stallion to cross the Hazy Dawn line over our Castle Baron mares. Since we purchased him we have discovered that Castle Connemaras current superstar filly and Clifden winner Castle Jewel is bred on exactly this cross proving our theory to already be correct in practice.

We are looking forward to exciting times ahead with our new pony Glenormiston Hazy Dane both in regards to performance and as a future sire. By the time that Dane is ready to compete Sam will be turning 18 making him eligible to compete on a stallion. Plans are in place and the future is looking bright ...

Sam broke 'Dane' in as he turned 3 years old and his adaptation under saddle has exceeded all expectations! A pony with a beautiful carriage and amazing temperament he will stand his first season at stud in 2015 and then begin his competition career.
