Temperament and versatility were everything when considering the next horse for my 13 year old daughter Lucy who enjoys everything from pure dressage through to hunting.
Asham Indigo (Indi) was spotted on the Asham Connemara Facebook page and on initial inquiry sounded like she could potentially be a perfect fit for our family. Due to Covid restrictions we knew we were in a position where we would have to purchase sight unseen. Lisa kindly gave us first offer
however wanted to put a further four weeks solid work into her before she made her way across the water to Tasmania as she was still very green. We were extremely grateful to receive regular updates, videos and photos of Indi’s progress over this period and found Lisa to be totally open and honest.
Indi has been the perfect addition to our Esk Farm menagerie and has attended pony club and regular lessons since arriving in Tasmania in December 2021. She has to date been near to foot perfect and I am sure that her outstanding temperament has a lot to do with the brilliant start that all involved with Asham Connemaras have given her as well as Lisa’s dedication to providing quality, well bred horses for sale.

I own a part Connemara and have admired the breed for many years, being a mature rider their size and temperament is a perfect fit for me with the added bonus that they are very athletic and brave, so I can do a bit of jumping. I follow the Connemara sites and Asham Connemaras stood out as they are a family owned/operated business, where you can not only find the perfect horse for you, but also have some ground work done so that your horse is already well adjusted to many situations and riding styles. Lisa was very kind in helping me select the right horse for my needs, guiding me in the development I wanted them to do with Hazy Doon, and invited me to their beautiful property to meet, ride and bond with him. Sam gave me a supervised ride, and detailed all the time and training he had done with Hazy Doon. From start, to our baby being trucked and arriving to us in another state, it was a seamless process, and wonderful experience for me. Lisa and Sam have loved him as much as I do, I can’t thank them enough and Ashley for all their help. Our Vet paid us a visit today and met Dusty for the first time, her initial comments were that he is very respectful and must have come from an environment where he was handled with great care.

Asham Hazy Doon
I purchased a 2-day old Connemara colt from Asham Connemaras and Sporthorses in September 2021. I spent a long-time prior to this shopping around for the right horse. I had contacted other studs but didn’t feel safe making a purchase of such a young horse sight unseen.
Lisa made what is usually a risky and nerve-racking experience smooth and easy. Everything I received was honest and accurate. The handling of payments, vet reports, insurance and progress photos far exceeded my expectations. I picked up a very well-handled weanling 6 months later.
He was taught to lead, tie, pick up feet/trimmed and load on a trailer. His calm manner continues to amaze visitors.
I couldn’t be happier and look forward to seeing what else the stud has to offer in the future.
