LeVale Solas
2015 Grey Mare (Gneevebrack Storm(IRE) x Glenormiston Sorcha by Castle Baron(IRE))
HWSD Status: N/N
Height: 14.2 hh
Registration: CPBSA # 2164
In 2020 we purchased the stunning young mare LeVale Solas from LeVale Connemaras. Looking to add the blood of Gneevebrack Storm(IRE) to our breeding programme we selected this mare both on type but also due to the fact that her dam Glenormiston Sorcha is a full sister to our superstar performance pony Glenormiston Slieveroe.Â
With temperament and performance absolutely integral to our breeding ideals it was an easy decision to add such a stunning and beautifully bred young filly!
‘Lolly’ as she is known at home is by the magnificent stallion Gneevebrack Storm(IRE) who was originally imported by the late Sue Clarke and is now owned by a syndicate of breeders. Storm has a highly successful career in the dressage arena as well as Eventing and Showjumping experience and is siring amazing ponies both in the performance world and as family ponies. His progeny have excelled in all of the Olympic disciplines as well as in the Show Ring.
Her dam Glenormiston Sorcha has produced a number of notable performance ponies, but as aforementioned she is a full sister to our exceptional pony Glenormiston Slieveroe who the kids competed in many disciplines with huge success.
‘Sly’ was the ultimate family and competition pony! He scaled the heights in both Showjumping and Eventing and competed in almost every discipline imaginable from Stockman’s Challenges to Pony Club and EA as well as general pleasure and mustering. He was also one of the Connemara ponies to represent the breed at the Equitana Exhibition in Sydney in 2013. To say he was a family favourite is a complete understatement!
LeVale Solas‘s first foal is Asham Bell Rock. As Solas refers to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) we named her first filly Bell Rock after the Bell Rock Lighthouse off the coast of Scotland being the world’s oldest surviving sea-washed lighthouse! Asham Bell Rock is being retained.
Her second foal, Asham Laoise is currently available for purchase.
