Asham Laoise is a daughter of our magnificent young stallion Asham Donegal. Already building a reputation as a sire of outstanding types with the softest temperaments, we believe you won’t find a better type or pedigree to carry on the legacy of his sire Glenormiston Bartley.

Glenormiston Bartley needs no introduction as the proven sire of so many elite performance horses and is himself a son of the ‘King of Connemaras’ Castle Baron. Asham Donegal’s dam is the highly successful broodmare Glenormiston Celebration who herself has performance ponies all over Australia. She is a full sister to Glenormiston Ballycarra the dam of our Champion performance ponies Glenormiston Killian, Glenormiston Ballymalloe and Glenormiston Ballyhooley and is also a full sister to Glenormiston Abbeylara, the dam of Glenormiston Annashee, who was the first Connemara pony ever to travel back to Europe from Australia. The icing on the cake of this pedigree is Glenormiston Celebration‘s sire, Domo Cavallo Praize! Praize was never beaten at a Royal Show winning dozens of Championships and Supreme Championships in hand, under saddle and in harness. He Evented in Open competition and was only once unplaced over a 10 year EA Eventing career. With an impeccable temperament and amazing ability he became a legend in Queensland and indeed all over Australia and is known internationally as the sire of Feldale Mouse, who represented Australia in Eventing in Europe with his young Australian rider Isabel English.

Asham Laoise is the 2nd foal of our stunning young mare LeVale Solas who is by Gneevebrack Storm(IRE) from the family of our superstar performance pony Glenormiston Slieveroe.

Gneevebrack Storm(IRE) has had a highly successful career in the dressage arena as well as Eventing and Showjumping experience and is siring amazing ponies both in the performance world and as family ponies. His progeny have excelled in all of the Olympic disciplines as well as in the Show Ring.

Glenormiston Slieveroe, fondly known as ‘Sly’ was the ultimate family and competition pony! He scaled the heights in both Showjumping and Eventing and competed in almost every discipline imaginable from Stockman’s Challenges to Pony Club and EA as well as general pleasure and mustering. He was also one of the Connemara ponies to represent the breed at the Equitana Exhibition in Sydney in 2013. To say he was a family favourite is a complete understatement!
