Glenormiston Celebration wins Sue McTaggart Broodmare Award!

24th October, 2022

Asham Connemaras & Sporthorses are absolutely thrilled to have had our magnificent broodmare Glenormiston Celebration recognized as the 2022 winner of the ‘Sue McTaggart Broodmare Award’, presented annually to a purebred Connemara mare who has made an exceptional contribution to the breed through her progeny.

This huge accoclade was granted by the committee of the CPBSA and we thank them wholeheartedly for recognizing our amazing girl and her contribution to the Australian Connemara breeding ranks. We would also like to thank the late Sue Clarke and her family for both breeding Glenormiston Celebration and trusting us to continue her breeding career.

A truly blue blooded mare by the immortal Domo Cavallo Praize and a full sister to Glenormiston Ballycarra, the dam of our amazing ponies Glenormiston Kilian and Glenormiston Ballymalloe, her temperament is exceptional and her breeding and type solid.

Prior to us purchasing her she had produced 7 foals carrying the Glenormiston prefix all who have gone on to illustrious careers both under saddle and as breeding stock. She has since produced a further 5 foals carrying the Asham prefix including our exceptional young stallion Asham Donegal by Glenormiston Bartley.

At the grand old age of 25 she is currently raising a stunning colt by Asham Duntroon and absolutely dotes on him!

Glenormiston Celebration has the most gentle, soft temperament and is an absolute pleasure to have around. She has thrown this temperament into all of her foals and they are a true testament to the Connemara breed. Great types with beautiful bone and soft temperaments, making them incredibly versatile in so many situations and suitable for a variety of riders.

Sometimes a very special horse comes into your life and she is definitely one of those. A truly one in a million mare and we are so privileged to have been a part of her journey. Her legacy will live on with us at Asham Connemaras & Sporthorses for many generations to come!
