Asham Slippery

2008 palomino gelding (Glenormiston Slipper x Cindy) 13.1hh

Asham Slippery is the first Connemara Sporthorse bred by Asham Connemaras. We were fortunate to be able to lease the stallion Glenormiston Slipper in 2007 and bred him to our magnificent pony mare Cindy. Cindy is of unknown breeding but was the ultimate kids pony, teaching both Sam and Ashley the ropes of riding.

Asham Fire 'n' Ice

2012 Grey filly (Glenormiston Bartley x Glenormiston Firenne by Abbeyleix Finbar)

Asham Fire 'n' Ice is the first foal of our young mare Glenormiston Firenne, and also the first purebred Connemara foal for her sire Glenormiston Bartley. She was born in early December during a heatwave with temperatures of 43 degrees! Born black with ice blue eyes she was named in reference to the fire and ice in play when she came into the world and also as a reflection of her dam's name, Firenne.

Again on the strengths of our full brother and sister Glenormiston Killian and Glenormiston Ballymalloe we purchased Glenormiston Ballyhooley from Carla Cosgrove in 2012.

'Hooley' as he has been affectionately christened is proving to be possibly the best performance pony we have ever had ...

Asham Copperplate

2011 Grey filly (Glenormiston Bartley x Copper{Thoroughbred})

An athletic Connemara Sporthorse filly born 15th October 2011. Should mature around 15.3hh as a very strong filly that comes from a line of mares with beautiful soft temperaments. Asham Copperplate has now been broken in and has been recently sold to Jenna North. Jenna has now purchased both Asham Fire 'n' Ice and Asham Copperplate and we wish her all the best with both fillies.

Glenormiston Ballymalloe

2002 grey mare (Castle Baron x Glenormiston Ballycara by Domo Cavallo Praize)

After quickly realising what an amazing pony we had in Killian we then purchased his full sister Glenormiston Ballymalloe and broke her in here at home. A truly amazing mare who has bonded with Ashley right from the very beginning and they have formed a formidable team. Initially we thought that she would be way too much ‘horse’ for a little girl as at almost 15hh she is a very powerful mare but again the Connemara temperament shone through and even as a young horse she came right back to her then 9 year old rider.

Just like her full brother, ‘Bally’ has excelled at both Showjumping and Eventing as well as the Working Hunter classes.

Glenormiston Killian, our very first Connemara Pony, has just been sold to Kate Vallance and has made the journey south and across Bass Strait to where he now resides near Hobart. We wish Kate all the fun we enjoyed with Killian in the 8 years that we owned him.

Asham Madonna

2008 grey filly (Glenormiston Slipper x Tylani Olivea by Glenormiston Oliver)

In 2007 we were also fortunate to be able to lease the magnificent broodmare Tylani Olivea. We bred ‘Riley’ to Glenormiston Slipper with Asham Madonna being the first purebred Connemara bred by Asham Connemaras and Sporthorses.

‘Donna’ quickly took the eye of Brooke Allan and she purchased her as a yearling and to date they have enjoyed a very successful partnership both in hand and under saddle.
